The Bronzeville Center for the Arts proudly congratulates BCA Board Vice Chair Della Wells on being named a 2026 Mary L. Nohl Fund Fellow, a highly competitive regional award that supports outstanding visual artists. Five artists were selected from a field of 168 applicants, and all are based in Milwaukee.
Wells, a nationally recognized collage artist known for her narrative work in collage, dolls, and drawing, was selected in the Established Artist category alongside fellow Milwaukee artist Evelyn Patricia Terry. Each will receive a $20,000 unrestricted fellowship plus a $5,000 professional development and production budget. The Fellows will be featured in an exhibition at the Haggerty Museum of Art in summer 2027.
The Mary L. Nohl Fellowship program is funded by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s Mary L. Nohl Fund and administered by Lynden Sculpture Garden, supporting artists who live in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee, and Washington counties.
