The Bronzeville Center for the Arts development on North Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Milwaukee advanced Wednesday with State Building Commission approval for a land sale.

That campus and 50,000-square-foot center for African American art would replace a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources regional office. Under an agreement approved Wednesday, the state would sell the building and 3.4-acre property to the nonprofit Bronzeville Center for the Arts organization for its development.
